The Israeli Psifas Foundation is operated mainly by volunteers, your donations are not used to cover overheads or salaries.
Psifas' decisions are absolutely transparent; donors receive a monthly report listing the applicants who have benefited from their largesse.
The donations are not transferred to the recipients' bank accounts, but are forwarded directly to the institution or supplier of the service (e.g. vocational school, psychologist conducting the evaluation) thereby ensuring that the money is used for the specified need.
Most of the donations are small sums, given on a regular monthly basis. All these small sums add up to a considerable amount, enabling Psifas to assist approximately one hundred and twenty individuals annually to take a significant step forward towards independence.
The Israeli Psifas Foundation is a registered organization, 58-046-170-5, and is recognized as a "Public Institution" for donations in Israel (section 46). Recognized tax receipts for donations made via credit cards are available for the USA (c3501) and Canada.
